About the EAERCD

The European Association for Education and Research in Commercial Distribution (EAERCD) was formed in 1990 to act as a contact point for academics involved in teaching and research in the distributive trades (retailing and wholesaling).

Since it was founded, EAERCD has evolved to provide:

• an academic conference on research in the distributive trades, held on a two year cycle

• a space for exchange of details, ideas, activities, publications and other news about research and education into commercial distribution – in the past this has been via a newsletter and membership directory, but these are being replaced by this blog site.

The President of the EAERCD is Professor Steve Burt of the Institute for Retail Studies at the University of Stirling.
